(Miami) Sergio Lastres presenta sus "Crónicas del agua"

 
Sergio Lastres: Crónicas del agua, is a solo exhibition of paintings, inspired by the artist's balsero experience and the implications for survival, memory, and freedom. Lastres and his wife Elsa de Lara were among the 30,000 rafters that fled Cuba in 199,4 and intercepted by the U.S. Coast Guard at sea to be re-routed to the Guantanamo Naval Base for processing. Arriving in Miami finally in early 1995, he bought a set of paint brushes and hasn't stopped painting since.

Exhibition runs through September 28th 2014.

There will be live music in honor of the artist, courtesy of the Luyanó Band. Refreshments will be served.
