Convocatoria

is heading towards its third anniversary, which is in November 2008. As you know, our Spanish e-zine, is dedicated to promote Latin American Arts & Culture and is spearheaded by volunteers. This small and simple e-zine has taken tremendous leaps within the past year, both within the organization and externally. The constant change in format, always looking for that “modern touch” as well as new team members, international collaborators and welcome within the international Spanish intellectual community.

Canasanta.com has obtained incredible national and international acceptance not only from artists and lectors within both the Canadian and Cuban nations, but also in Europe, the Americas and even in Japan! We are happy to see that there is an interest amongst people to collaborate with their writing, poetry and visual arts, learn a little about what other people are doing within the cultural world and appreciate our culture and know that we not only have excellent dancing and food, but intellectuals and very talented artists as well!

The reason why I am writing is that we have come to realize that we must not only direct our efforts amongst the Spanish-speaking people of the world, but to the English speaking. Many people, who amongst them is yourselves, have requested that we offer the same material (or similar) in English. Time and time again, people demand an English version of Cañasanta. People are just not happy with the Google translator! We cannot do this alone.

I would like to make a call out to anyone interested in Latin American Arts and Culture willing to devote time as a volunteer to promote this amazing art and culture. Artists, writers, translators, editors, students, professionals, people who are passionate with the Latin American culture and would like to form part of our English editorial or simply form part of the Canasanta team!

Once this English editorial section is set up and functioning, our objective is to create a paper magazine, and market it to the Canadian audience.

If you would like to form part of this editorial, or know of any vibrant, passionate people who would like to assist in promoting Latin American Arts and Culture, please contact info@canasanta.com or call 647-406-CANA

Regards,
